LIMA – A letter, handwritten by confessed murderer Joran Van der Sloot, in which he openly talks about his life, has been showing up on the internet.
In the letter, Van der Sloot writes about his personal life in explicit but matter of fact detail.
The Dutchman wrote the letter by request of the Peruvian police as part of a handwriting analysis and possibly to also learn more about the now convicted murderer of Stephanie Flores.
Van der Sloot states how he began learning poker at just 16 years old and how not long thereafter he was picked up by authorities in connection with the disappearance of American high school student Natalee Holloway in Aruba.“I was in jail for three months and then released,” writes Van der Sloot.
The Dutchman writes very little about his encounter with the American teen, who disappeared in Aruba over five years ago and whose body still hasn’t been found.
He talks about how he moved to Thailand, opened up a store and traveled a lot to play poker. He states he lived in Thailand for two years with his then girlfriend, whom he had met in the United States.
Joran ends his personal letter saying:
“On the 14th of May 2010 I came to Peru to play a poker tournament for the LAPT.”
In the entire letter, Van der Sloot does not write one single word about the murder of Stephanie Flores.
Van der Sloot was convicted of murdering the Peruvian native in a Lima court last Friday and has been sentenced to serve 28 years behind bars.
Rumors have it that he is looking to have his case and with it his sentencing, declared void because of officials in Chili violating his personal rights.
How the letter got to appear on the internet is unclear at this time.
