Body Parts Found Under Hollywood Sign

HOLLYWOOD – The Hollywood sign, a iconic tourist attraction for the city of Los Angeles and directly connected with the movie industry got notoriety for an entirely different and gruesome discovery.

Beneath the sign, LAPD discovered a severed head and hand that most likely belong to the same person. Police estimate the body parts are those of an Armenian-American male about 40 years of age.

Two women walking their dogs through the picturesque neighborhood found the body parts when they noticed their pets playing with an ‘object’ that after closer inspection turned out to be a severed human head.

Police are puzzled about the scene and aren’t sure if the man in question was killed elsewhere and his body parts were scattered throughout the Hollywood hills afterwards or if possibly dogs dragged the items around.

For now Los Angeles police are investigating the crime scene and hope to quickly have answers to the how, who, and why questions in this unusual case.

65 years ago, , on January 15, 1947, a badly mutilated body was discovered nearby where the human head was discovered on Tuesday. That body belonged to then 22 year old Elizabeth Short, an up and coming actress who was nicknamed the Black Dahlia.

Short’s body was sliced in half at the waist. Her murder has never been solved.
