VATICAN CITY – Pope Benedict XVI said in a statement on Monday that same sex marriage undermine traditional family living.
The Pope went as far as saying that “homosexual marriages are a threat against humanity”.
Addressing 180 delegates inside Vatican City, His Holiness listed an array of topics that he believes are affecting the world negatively; including economic and social issues.
So what does the world need to improve on?
Here’s a short list of what Benedict XVI thinks they should be:* Better education for children
* People must be proud of their families
* Marriages must be between a man and a woman
* Politics must stay out of family life
The Pope further said that “undermining a family as it should be, is a threat against human dignity and threatens the very future of humanity”.
The Papal’s elaborate speech was far from sympathetic towards same-sex marriages which he harshly reprimanded.
Like former U.S. President George W. Bush, the Pope made it clear that the church does not approve of two men or two women uniting in holy matrimony.
The extremely popular pastor Joel Osteen of the Lakewood church put a little twist on the sensitive subject when he told Oprah Winfrey in her new show: “Homosexuality Is Sin — But Gay People Will Get Into Heaven”.
