Diamond Heist With Catapults

A group of men armed with catapults and one gun managed to swipe a large quantity of raw diamonds in Zimbabwe, Africa.

Ten men with one AK-47 riffle and several catapults attacked a diamond transport truck after it had left the Marange diamond fields.

The Marange diamond fields spread over Zimbabwe, Chiadzwa and Mutare West with Chiadzwa being considered the biggest diamond find in the world in a century.

Marange mining has been conflicted with ongoing legal wrangles and government crackdowns on illegal miners and allegations of forced labor.

Reportedly the diamond truck broke down along the road before it was attacked by the ten men. The two men on board the truck were ordered to lay on the ground, face down.

That’s when the attackers stole 880 pounds of raw diamonds from the truck.

One of the men on the floor tried to resist the attack and prevent the diamonds from being stolen but he was shot with ammo coming from a catapult.

No word on whether the men who stole the diamonds are part of a larger network of thieves that is roaming the neighborhoods of Zimbabwe.

Mining authorities did not say how much the diamonds are worth.
