PARIS – The new head of the International Monetary Funds (IMF), Christine Lagarde stated during an interview that the world economy is in danger.
According to Lagarde, the plans made by world leaders to get the world economy back on track aren’t detailed enough and are too complicated.
“Investors are waiting for clarity and pretty principles don’t make much of an impression,” said the top women of IMF.
Lagarde said that even the world’s fastest growing economies, including China, Brazil and Russia, are affected by the economic problems in the rest of the world.
A major part of the problem according to Lagarde is that the European countries are still too protective making international coalitions difficult to establish.
Lagarde said that the predicted 4 percent growth of the world economy in 2012 will most likely be less. She refuses to say how much less but indicates that the world economy isn’t going to jump back anytime soon, most likely not in 2012.
