HOMS – On Friday, a train with 465 passengers on board was derailed intentionally in Syria.
Syria, which has been in much unrest lately and has seen large demonstration against its current government recently, has become the victim of malicious and deadly attacks.
Syria media reported that a train with 465 passengers on board derailed after the tracks were sabotaged.

The train tracks were sabotaged at an overpass. Fortunately, the train did not fall off the tracks and stayed pretty much intact, explaining the one death and minor injuries
The incident took place after the entire country joined forces protesting against the current Syrian leadership. During these protests 9 people were killed.
Protests have been ongoing continuously for over one week in the city of Homs. Explosions were heard on Saturday in the city’s military academy.
The army has stepped up its presence in the city trying to control the large group of demonstrators.
Syrian TV stated the operator of the train is currently the only person to die in the train derailment. Of the 465 passengers on board, only few suffered minor injuries.

As by miracle, the train cabins remain connected and don't tumble into the ravine below, keeping fatalities to just one, with few minor injuries between passengers.
No one has come forth yet to claim responsibility for the derailment.
